Arrive in New York City where your holiday begins. After checking into your hotel (which you can choose from hundreds of options in New York – this is where our team of experts comes in handy!), you can begin sight-seeing in the Big Apple! Whilst in New York, we highly recommend visiting Times Square at least once – you’ll be amazed that it’s as busy at 2am as it is at 12pm…New York really is the city that never sleeps! On your 2nd day in New York City, you might want to shop along Fifth Avenue, take a stroll around Central Park, hop in an infamous New York City Taxi (or Yellow Cab as they say) and drive across the Brooklyn Bridge, and finish the day off with some authentic New York City Pizza! On your 3rd day you could book a cruise along the Hudson River and see Manhattan’s Skyline, or maybe you would prefer to catch a Broadway show and have a bite to eat in the trendy district of SOHO New York. On your 4th Day in New York, you will want to take a trip out to the Statue of Liberty, or maybe take a taxi back over the Brooklyn Bridge where you can see the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline all from the comfort of Harriet's Rooftop bar at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. You could even stay here for the night or the duration of your trip if you want to wake up to the Manhattan Skyline each morning! On your final day before heading to the airport, we recommend visiting the Empire State Building; you can admire the building from the ground or dare to scale to the top!
When on our New York and San Francisco holidays at Christmas time, be sure to go ice-skating whilst in Central Park and visit the incredible Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center!
After a power nap on your flight, you will arrive in San Francisco! After taking a taxi from the airport to Fisherman’s Wharf, you will be able to check in to your hotel. Be sure to take in the amazing view of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge before you check in though! Staying on Fisherman’s Wharf allows you to be close to all the main sights of San Francisco so you don’t need to travel far to see the iconic points of interest for the city…in fact you will be able to see most of them from your hotel! On your 1st day in San Francisco, depending what time you arrive, you will be able to walk along Fisherman’s Wharf towards the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. On your first full day in the city, be sure to wake up early so you can start your bike ride along Fisherman’s Wharf to the Golden Gate Bridge! You’re bike ride will take you up and over the Bridge towards the quaint town of Sausalito where you can stop for a bite to eat before catching the ferry back across San Francisco Bay to Pier 41. When you arrive at Pier 41 you can walk along for a few minutes to reach the iconic Pier 39 – it is here you will find shops, restaurants, and see where the infamous California Sealions like to sun themselves just below the Pier. On your 3rd day in San Francisco, it’s time to hop on your pre-booked tour where you will be taken outside of the city to Muir Woods National Monument – a forest of some of the oldest Redwood trees in California. This is a must-do experience that Charter Travel can pre-organise for you. On your 9th day of your New York and San Francisco Twin Centre Holiday, and your 4th day in San Francisco, it’s time to journey across The Bay to Alcatraz Island where you will be able to walk through the entire abandoned prison with an audio guide: this is an eery but amazing experience that will never be forgotten. On the final day of your holiday, it’s time to sample some of the local fish from Fisherman’s Wharf and sourdough from the iconic Boudin Bakery before catching your flight home!
