Best beaches to visit in Florida

There is no denying that tourism is hugely important to the state of Florida and the local economy. The pleasant temperatures and countless miles of sandy beaches would ensure that any destination was popular with tourists and Florida welcomes around 60 million visitors every year. Records and research indicates that Florida is the number one tourist state in the United States, and this is the case for residents in America looking for a holiday and people coming to America for a break.

Delray Beach Located in Palm Beach County

Delray Beach is contained in a pleasant village which is located by the sea and it welcomes around 1 million visitors to its beach every year. The beach is around 2 miles long and it is perfectly situated for swimming, building sandcastles and sunbathing. In the local area, the main hotspot is Atlantic Avenue where there are plenty of restaurants, mainly serving up fresh seafood, and stylish boutiques. There are plenty of hotels on the beachfront if you are looking to be part of the action straight away and the water is ideally located between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. This beach offers something for everyone and over its three miles there are plenty of opportunities to sunbathe, engage in activities like volleyball or you can head out into the water to fish, watch dolphins or even try your hand at parasailing. If you feel like venturing inland, you will find an aquarium and museum close by.

Naples Beaches

Anyone looking to see how the other half lives will find that Naples is the beach to visit. The beach lies just off of Millionaires Row, so there is a chance to see stunning mansions that will take your breath away. There are a number of beaches in Naples, with the Pier being in the city while travelling north to Old Naples likes a tremendous family beach. Sanibel Beach Located on Sanibel Island

Sanibel offers a slightly different take on Florida life as it a barrier island and life is a little bit different here. While most of Florida concerns itself with the North and South divide, this island brings the East and West differences to life. There is a stunning traditional lighthouse to be found at, the appropriately names, Lighthouse Beach and if you are looking for a quiet piece of beach, the Bowmans Beach is an excellent place to visit. The range of beaches on Sanibel offer something for everyone and even if you are looking for a wholesome beach trip where you collect sea shells with your bucket and spade, this is likely to be the area that gives you what you are looking for.

South Beach

When it comes to the exciting and non-stop lifestyle of Miami, many people will find that South Beach is ideal destination. There are plenty of fantastic beaches in the area, with even the lifeguard areas looking like a work of art but this is an area that is alive at all times of day or night. The beach is busy in the morning with joggers and sunbathers during the day but the South Beach area comes alive at night as this is the home of some of the most impressive nightlife you will find in Florida. Siesta Key

If South Beach is the perfect place for young adults to enjoy during a Florida break, the Siesta Key is the perfect beach area for people who are a few years down the line with life. You can enjoy the calming waters and the luxurious beaches while strolling and looking for seashells. If you fancy something a bit more energetic, you can take part in kayaking or you can rent a boat. Atlantic Beach Close to Jacksonville

Atlantic Beach is another beach that is calm and perfect for relaxing in but this has the added bonus of being located very close to Jacksonville. This means you can head out here for a day-trip or you can split your time Florida holiday time between quiet relaxation and busy city life. This area also has a number of stores, museums, restaurants and plenty of other impressive activities that will ensure you can take a break from the beach life at any time. There are also major events such as live bands and art exhibitions taking place at regular points throughout the month.

Turner Beach Found on Captiva Island

This beach is not the best beach to go for a swim on, there are fast moving currents but this is a fantastic place to look for shells that remain in great condition and are fully intact. There is also Captiva Beach, which provides stunning views of the sunset at the end of the day.

Key West Located off of the mainland Florida coast

The Key West area of Florida is known all over the world, being the inspiration for many songs and pieces of art. This is the place to help people relax and to feel that all is well with the world. If you are looking to get close to sea life, you can do so by snorkelling or by renting a kayak with a glass bottom. If you are keen to see the local area, there is a bike path that will take you all around the area, into a fort, into a number of secluded beaches and around plenty of places to enjoy a picnic and some quality time. The bike path also winds around many of the key shopping districts. All of this comes on top of some of the most glorious beaches that will ensure you have a brilliant time.
