Star Wars fans will be thrilled to know that Disney are launching a new Star Wars experience for 2022 - Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser. Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser is a 2-night all-immersive experience that goes beyond anything Walt Disney World Florida has ever done before.
The Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser experience begins at the Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser terminal at Walt Disney World, where you and your fellow passengers will gather before departing for your intergalactic destination. From here you will enter a special Launch Pod and make your way to a galaxy far, far away.
You will soon see the special Star Cruiser, Halcyon, and make your approach. When the pod doors open you will step into the Star Cruiser and the world will come to life around you. During your stay aboard this ship, you will have the chance to interact with many familiar and new Star Wars characters. This glamourous ship will be home to you and your fellow passengers but also the ship’s captain (who you may or may not be able to talk to), a spirited ship’s mechanic and a galactic superstar who will perform during one of your excellent dining experiences inside the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. It is here in this dining room you will also be able to have breakfast and lunch whilst aboard the Halcyon Star Cruiser.
During your Florida holiday, you will have the opportunity to train in the traditional ways of the lightsabre, learn about the ship’s inner workings and even take a planetary excursion to the planet Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This is imagination like you have never seen before and we hope you are as excited as we are to be welcomed aboard this sensational intergalactic experience.
Until Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser opens, there are still many ways to enjoy the Star Wars experience at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. Why not try your hand at flying the Millennium Falcon at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and see how good you are at smuggling intergalactic contraband! Or, battle the First Order with the Resistance at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is beloved by Disney Guests, but this does mean attraction queues can get long. To combat this, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance uses virtual queuing in “boarding groups” so be sure to download the My Disney Experience app to be able to board this fantastic ride. While you’re in Galaxy’s Edge waiting for your turn to board, there will be plenty to do and see – be sure to be on the lookout for Kylo Ren, Storm Troopers, Ray, and Chewbacca wandering around the land.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is the best for those wanting to re-fuel on their intergalactic missions – this pit-stop on Batuu offers amazing dishes from Tuna Poke bowls to a delicious, marinated chicken salad. After re-fuelling, you’ll have all the energy in the world to visit Savi’s Workshop to build your very own lightsabre to keep and take home with you.
Outside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Star Wars Launch Bay you can meet BB-8, Chewbacca and even Darth Vader! Hollywood Studios also puts on a nightly firework and projection display, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular”, that provides a fabulous end to your intergalactic experience at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
