Los Angeles Holidays

Los Angeles is arguably America’s most iconic city, certainly California’s, and is home to some of the most famous celebrities in the world! You really will be walking among the stars on a trip to LA, but celebrity spotting is not all LA has to offer. In Los Angeles you can enjoy time hiking, shopping, dining, lounging, relaxing, stargazing and so much more, as in LA you are never short of something to do!

To ensure your Los Angeles holiday is as amazing as possible, Charter Travel work with the best airline partners in the industry: Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways and Delta Airlines, and offer flights from many UK airports including Glasgow, Manchester, London Airports, and select other regional airports, which allows us to tailor your holiday to your specific needs. Our Travel Specialists are experts in all-things California and can advise on when the best time to travel is, what to do whilst in Los Angeles, where to stay in Los Angeles, and create your perfect holiday that fits your budget. Our Travel Specialists can advise on car hire, fly drive holidays, hotels, activities, budget requirements, and source the cheapest flights and accommodation for your booking.

If you’re looking for beaches and beautiful coastline, Los Angeles has you covered! All you have to do if hire a car, something Charter Travel can arrange for you, and drive on out to the beautiful golden sand beaches of Malibu! Point Dume is a favourite among locals for sunbathing and having an afternoon picnic on the sand, and El Matador is best for experiencing those amazing LA sunsets! Or you could head on out to Santa Monica for a bite to eat at the Santa Monica Pier and a day of relaxation on everyone’s favourite Santa Monica State Beach! Beaches and Los Angeles aren’t always synonymous but if you drive just a little bit out of the city, you will come across some of the best and most stunning beaches along all of California’s coastline!

Another beach not-so-known for its relaxation and sunbathing, but is still well worth a visit, is Venice Beach: home to skateboarders, roller-skaters, gym-goers, and a fantastic board walk you have to take a stroll down for some of the best people watching in LA!

Shopping in Los Angeles is another thing that cannot be beat, and what better way to shop in style than on Rodeo Drive - the home of luxury in LA! Rodeo Drive is packed full of luxury designers and though most items might be very pricy, it’s still amazing entertainment to window shop and celebrity spot along the cobbled walkway!

Another attraction that entices holidaymakers to Los Angeles is, of course, Disneyland California! The little sister to Walt Disney World Orlando, as it is home to just 2 theme parks, Disneyland California is a must-do for Disney lovers, families, and couples alike! Walt Disney World Orlando regulars will notice some major differences but also some similarities on their trip to Disneyland California; for example, both Walt Disney World Orlando and Disneyland California are home to the fantastic Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge but only at Disneyland California can guests visit the Avengers Campus and Cars Land!

If you haven’t had your fill of theme parks yet, then you’ll certainly want to visit Universal Studios Hollywood too! Unique to the Los Angeles theme park, Universal Studios Hollywood is actually adjacent to the company’s operating movie and TV studios! This means, guests can tour the sets and see behind the scenes of their favourite Universal TV shows and films. Alongside this, Universal Studios Hollywood is home to iconic Universal attractions like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Jurassic World - much like its Orlando counterpart!

The Los Angeles theme parks are not quiet done yet and if you are looking for a theme park full of non-stop thrills, one you can’t find in Orlando, then look no further than Six Flags Magic Mountain! Six Flags is not for the faint hearted and delivers non-stop adrenaline-pumping rides all day long! Of course, Six Flags offers rides for visitors of all ages, but it is the amazing rollercoasters at the park, like X2, Tatsu and Goliath, that have made it so famous.

Los Angeles is also home to some incredible hikes for when you want to be ‘one with nature’, whilst still being in the most famous city in America. The Eaton Canyon Falls hike is a 1-hour round trip in the San Gabriel Mountains where you will be rewarded at the end with a 50-foot waterfall! Another unique hike is the 282 steps at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, where once you reach the top, you will be treated to 360-degree views with the downtown LA skyline one side and the ocean on the other! And of course, the hike to the Hollywood sign at Griffith Park is not to be missed – it is around 3.3 miles but completed by many tourists and locals alike for their daily exercise, so be sure to look out for some stars who might be joining you!

Los Angeles is also a great destination to make the first stop along your Twin Centre Pacific Coast Highway California Road Trip! You can fly into LA and spend a few days lounging by the pool, hitting the shops, or enjoying the theme parks before heading North on the Pacific Coast Highway up to San Francisco! This Californian Road Trip will take you past some of California’s most loved destinations, including Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Monterey Bay, San Jose and even out to Yosemite National Park if you would like!

In Los Angeles there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether you are a theme park fan or looking to relax and watch the sunset with a home-made picnic.
