Days 1-2

To begin your self-drive holiday around Quebec, fly with one of our many partner airlines from the UK into Montreal. British Airways and Air Canada offer a direct flight, whilst Delta Airlines, United and US Airlines offer an indirect flight with one change in each direction.

Collect your rental car upon arrival into the airport and make your way to the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel, approximately a 25 minute drive. The hotel has an ideal central location, great for exploring Old Montreal, found just minutes from Catherine Street with its abundance of shops.

Days 2-4

Enjoy this morning at your leisure; take in the sights of Montreal with its European feel, before heading off on your journey north along the shores of the St Lawrence to the delightful city of Quebec, your home for the next two nights. Make your way to the Hotel Manoir Victoria found in the heart of Old Quebec and within easy reach of the Plains of Abraham. This is a beautiful hotel which has been fully restored to its former glory with a charming yet traditional feel. Facilities include2 restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, a spa and a fitness centre.

Make full use of the next two days, free to explore this fascinating city as you choose. Quebec is one of the oldest cities in America having been established in 1608, whilst here you can enjoy its rich history and beautiful scenery with a tour of the highlights of Quebec, one of the most popular tourist attractions available.

Days 4-5

Continue your journey north this morning as you head away from the river into a seemingly endless landscape of forests. Stop off for the night in Saguenay; found perched on the banks of the Saguenay River, here you will be staying in the Hotel Chicoutimi found in the downtown area with spectacular views out over the Fjord. This hotel offers a contemporary décor and show cases some of the work from the regional artists.

Days 5-6

Today you will begin your journey to the east, travelling through some magnificent, unspoilt scenery. Head towards Tadoussac, a quaint settlement found at the mouth of the Saguenay River as it meets the St Lawrence River, one of the most beautiful bays in the world! Here you will be spending the night in the Hotel Tadoussac, overlooking the sea, just minutes from the old village. Tadoussac was founded in 1600 making it the oldest French settlement to survive in America. Well-known for its rich history and whale watching, whilst here you could take the afternoon to explore the sights here before you.

Day 6-7

Make your way to Les Escoumins to catch the ferry crossing over to the south bank of St Lawrence, here you will notice the change in landscape, now much softer and less rugged, but still equally as beautiful. Spend the night in the charming fishing village of Matane at the Riotel Hotel Sur Mer, a quaint hotel offering a warm welcome and an ideal location with stunning views out to sea.

Day 7-8

Today begin your journey south along the banks of the Matane River, through the valley as it towers magnificently above. Continue on until you reach Carleton found on the shores of Chaleur Bay and head to the Hotel Baie Bleue located in the heart of Carleton Sur Mer, the ideal spot to appreciate some of those breath-taking views out to sea.

Day 8-10

Travel down the coastal road, following the picturesque shoreline of the Bay of Chaleur, heading towards Perce for your two-night stay. Perce is well known for its dramatic rock formations and for being gateway to the Bonaventure Island National Park. Make your way to the Hotel La Normandie found right on the beach with views out over Bonaventure Island in the heart of downtown Perce.

Day 10-11

Enjoy driving around the eastern tip of the Gaspe Pennisula as you make your way to the Gaspe Harbour, then follow the winding roads back to the beautiful south bank of St Lawrence at Saint-Annes-Des-Monts. Upon arrival make your way to the Auberge Le Gite du Mont-Albert for your overnight stay, with panoramic views of the mountains; this is the ideal setting for a relaxing evening enjoying the breath-taking scenery.

Day 11-12

Continue travelling west along the St Lawrence as you head towards Rimouski to the Hotel Rimouski, a luxurious 4 star resort with magnificent views out to sea. Here enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, explore your local surroundings or just simply relax and unwind at the hotels spa.

Day 12-13

Spend today continuing on to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and head for the Auberge du Faubourg located on the banks of the St Lawrence with exceptional views across the river. Renowned for its gourmet cuisine and peaceful ambience this is the ideal setting for the last night of your drive through Quebec.

Day 13

Today you will return to Montreal as you complete your epic journey. Drive back to the airport and return the vehicle before flying back to the UK.
