Visiting on foot:

There is no road access to the Nāpali Coast so visiting the coastline on foot is the only way to access the views on land. Though, hiking the Nāpali Coast trails is not for everyone so making sure you know the trails and conditions are vital! The Kalalau Trail leaves from Keʻe Beach and travels 11 miles along the Nāpali Coast. Hikers are able to camp, with a permit, at Kalalau Beach to break up their hike but permits are scarce, so it is vital to secure one early. Viewing the Nāpali Coast like this will provide breath-taking views out over the ocean that will be absolutely picture perfect. The hike along the Nāpali Coast will also take you the Hanakāpī’ai Beach and Falls which is only 2 miles into the Kalalua Trail and well worth a visit, though going beyond this 2 mile marker is only advised for experienced hikers! When hiking the Nāpali Coast be sure to bring supplies like food and water, stay out of the water as it can be dangerous and never hike alone! It is best to hike the Nāpali Coast in the summer months when the ocean is calmer and the weather is stable.
