Walt Disney World's New Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Walt Disney World's New Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Walt Disney World Announces Lightning Lane Premier Pass: A New Way to Skip the Lines

Walt Disney World has officially unveiled its latest offering for visitors: the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, set to pilot on October 30, 2024. This highly anticipated pass promises to provide guests with th ability to skip the regular standby lines at major attractions. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass will also eliminatie the need for pre-booked arrival times, making the day a lot less stressfull!

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows guests to access one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance within a single theme park per day. Unlike other skip-the-line services such as Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane purchases, which require guests to book specific return times for attractions, the Premier Pass offers flexibility. You can bypass the lines at your favourite rides whenever you choose throughout the day, without having to plan ahead. Which attractions will be eligible for Lightning Lane Premier Pass have not yet been announced.

In simpler terms, this is Disney's answer to Universal's Unlimited Express Pass, but with a few key differences. Unlike Universal's Unlimited Express Pass, which offers unlimited ride access, Disney’s Premier Pass gives you one-time entry per ride. It’s also not included with your stay, even if you're booked at one of Disney's top resorts—so you’ll still need to buy it separately. While it won’t offer the same unlimited access, it does give Disney guests that same ‘no reservation needed’ perk for skipping the lines.

Pricing and Availability

The cost of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will vary depending on the theme park. Launch prices will range from $129 to $449 per person, plus tax, depending on the park and the season.

Here is the pricing breakdown for each theme park:

Pricing fluctuates based on demand, time of year, and other factors such as special events or holiday seasons. As such, those planning to visit during peak times may find themselves paying the higher end of the price range, particularly for popular parks like Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Prices are also subject to change.

Eligibility and Availability

One important detail to note is that the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is not available to all guests. Initially, it will only be offered to those staying at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Eligible hotels include:

Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels

Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts

Other Eligible Hotels

The Premier Pass will be available in limited quantities each day, adding an element of exclusivity to the offering. Guests staying at eligible resorts can purchase their Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to seven days in advance of their stay, except for the launch date which will not have advance purchases.
